Position Overview
The ESG Intern will report to the Head of Sustainability and collaborate with Flexstone’s other teams to support the implementation of our ESG strategy and initiatives at investment and corporate level. This is a unique opportunity to work with a small team on a wide range of ESG topics, including completing research on sustainable finance, regulations and frameworks addressing specific topics such as decarbonization and ESG value creation, investment ESG due diligence, assessing portfolio ESG performance, and developing ESG reporting for Flexstone’s funds.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree in finance, Economics, Sustainability, Business, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Passionate about sustainability and responsible investing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Previous experience or coursework in environmental science, sustainability, or ESG investing is a plus.
- Ability to work in French and English.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supporting Flexstone’s ESG and investment teams with ESG due diligence during the investment process, including assessing the sustainability strategy of fund managers and portfolio companies.
- Carrying out research related to the latest sustainability regulations and disclosure frameworks, research, and market insights and contributing to Flexstone’s monthly sustainability newsletter.
- Supporting the ESG team in monitoring and assessing ESG risks and opportunities across Flexstone’s investment portfolio.
- Assisting in the preparation of ESG reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Responding to bespoke ESG questionnaires and requests from investors and preparing communications on Flexstone’s responsible investment approach.
